Complete Control over the Lifetime of your Cards
Pax2pay’s newly released Customisable Activation and Expiry Date feature gives Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) greater control over when their virtual cards activate and expire. This functionality allows OTAs operating under the Pax2pay licence to set specific expiry dates at the point of card issuance, offering increased flexibility and security for payment management.
By allowing users to define exactly when a card should close, the risk of unauthorised use after a transaction is reduced, and the need for manual monitoring of expiry dates is eliminated. This feature is available across all card types issued under the Pax2pay licence.
Why Customisable Dates Matter
Customisable Activation and Expiry Card Dates solve several common issues faced by OTAs managing large volumes of virtual payments. Whether in travel, procurement or financial operations, this feature delivers value by:
- Allowing you to set an expiry date that aligns with a particular transaction or billing cycle
- Reducing the risk of post-transaction card misuse
- Removing the need to track or update expiry dates manually
- Helping you implement stricter internal controls without additional admin
- Supporting more secure, automated payment processes
How Customisable Card Dates Work
Customisable Activation and Expiry dates are set during the virtual card creation process and follow a straightforward workflow:
Step 1: Card Creation
When issuing a virtual card, you will now see an option to set a custom activation and expiry date. This can be selected based on the expected duration or timing of your payment needs.
Step 2: Date Selection
You choose a specific expiry date that best fits the purpose of the card. This might align with a supplier’s billing terms or the end of a reconciliation period.
Step 3: Card Activation
Once the expiry and activation dates are confirmed, the card is issued as normal. It will remain active until the chosen date, at which point it will automatically close and become inactive.
Step 4: Post-Transaction Security
After the card has closed, any attempted use will be automatically declined, ensuring no post-transaction exposure or risk.
Who Can Use Customisable Card Activation and Expiry Dates?
This feature is available exclusively to clients operating under the Pax2pay licence. It supports all Pax2pay-issued virtual cards.
