eTravel Group strengthens its partnership with Pax2Pay as it expands across CEE

Oct 23, 2026

After years of working together, one of Europe’s leading travel management groups is deepening its relationship with Pax2Pay as it expands across Central and Eastern Europe.

eTravel Group, one of the largest travel management companies in Europe, is strengthening its long-standing cooperation with Pax2Pay and moving to a direct partnership across the eTravel group. The group brings together eTravel, Why Not Travel, BlueSkyTravel and Sigma Travel in Poland, ST Travel in the Czech Republic and, since August 2026, Accent Travel & Events in Romania. eTravel has worked with Pax2Pay since the early days of its growth. Now, as it moves from national leader to regional group and enters new markets, it is building on that trust. For Pax2Pay, it is a clear vote of confidence, and a sign that specialist payments infrastructure has become a strategic priority for the region’s most ambitious operators.

A region on the move

CEE is now where European travel is growing fastest. According to UN Tourism’s World Tourism Barometer, Central and Eastern Europe was the continent’s fastest-growing subregion in 2025, with international arrivals up 5.5%. It added a further 4.3% in the first half of 2026, while Western Europe declined by 0.5%. Growth on this scale is reshaping the industry. The region’s strongest travel businesses are consolidating: acquiring competitors, broadening their services and expanding across borders. Few illustrate this better than eTravel.

eTravel: from national leader to regional group

eTravel built its position in Poland on proprietary booking technology, including its Corporate Travel Assistant platform. Since 2025, it has used that foundation to build a regional group.

  • New investment (2025). Enterprise Investors and the EBRD backed eTravel in a deal worth PLN 250 million, funding a strategy of organic growth and acquisitions in Poland and abroad.
  • Greater scale in Poland (2025). eTravel acquired the Why Not Travel group, including BlueSkyTravel and Sigma Travel, adding expertise in public-sector travel, tour operations, MICE and dynamic packaging.
  • Entry into Romania (August 2026). eTravel acquired a majority stake in Accent Travel & Events, an independent travel management company founded in 1999 that serves more than 500 corporate clients.

The group expects to process more than 1.5 million bookings in 2026, including over 700,000 flight tickets. CEO Andrzej Wierzba has said eTravel will continue to grow both organically and through further acquisitions.

Why scale raises the stakes for payments

Every acquisition adds brands, suppliers, currencies and payment terms. At this scale, payments are no longer a back-office function: they shape margins, cash flow and the speed at which a travel business can grow.

“Pax2Pay has been part of our growth story over the years. As we expand across Central and Eastern Europe, we need a partner that understands travel, adapts to how we work and responds when it matters. That’s why we chose Pax2Pay.”
— Marian Szypula, Chief Supply Chain Officer

What sets Pax2Pay apart

Pax2Pay is a payments platform built exclusively for travel, and part of Paxport Group, which aggregates content from more than 100 airlines. The difference is in how Pax2Pay works with each client:

  • Customer support that knows travel, around the clock. A dedicated account manager, a team that combines payments and travel expertise, and a 24/7 emergency line for when something can’t wait
  • Built around each client. Tailored configuration and integrations, a developer portal for in-house teams, and demos and training shaped to each client’s workflow
  • Analytics that optimize earnings. Clear dashboards in Insights Room, plus recommendations on the products that best support each client’s earnings
  • A platform that keeps moving. Pax2Pay continuously adds new features shaped by what clients need, from new payment methods and currencies to smarter card controls and automated reporting

And the essentials, done well:

  • A faster month-end close, with less manual reconciliation
  • Cashback on eligible spend, contributing directly to margins
  • Wide supplier acceptance across hotels, airlines and other travel suppliers
  • Control at transaction level, with every payment traceable to its booking

Close to the market, committed to the region

Pax2Pay has built its presence in CEE deliberately, from establishing Pax2Pay UAB in Vilnius in 2024 to joining the Polish Chamber of Tourism (PIT) in 2026. Sales Director Anna Drzycimska leads the business in Poland and across CEE.

“CEE’s travel leaders are consolidating fast. Every acquisition adds suppliers, currencies and complexity, and that’s exactly where a payments partner built for travel proves its value.”

— Torsten Gros, Managing Director, Europe, Pax2Pay

“Travel businesses across CEE need more than a way to pay suppliers. They need to keep payment costs under control, reduce manual reconciliation and manage multiple currencies without adding complexity to their operations. My role is to understand those challenges first and help businesses identify where Pax2Pay can make a practical difference, whether they are growing in their home market or expanding across borders.”

— Anna Drzycimska, Sales Director, Pax2Pay
